▼About the Asakusa Sanja Festival

It is held on the third Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of May, centering on the 44 districts of parishioners of Asakusa Shrine, and it is held over three days with about 1.8 million people, mainly a magnificent and gorgeous mikoshi parade that retains the atmosphere of Edo. It is one of the representative festivals of Japan that counts the number of people.
Shitamachi Asakusa, which still retains the atmosphere of the Edo period, is said to be the most lively of the year, and is one of the typical features of early summer in Tokyo.
