Ashanti still holds the world record of having the fastest selling debut album by a female artist (her album "Ashanti" sold 503,000 in the first week). She is the first female artist to have all 3 of her debut songs peak to the top ten Billboard charts, simultaneously. Ashanti's rapid rise to success was followed by a huge obstacle. Her music label Murda Inc, faced several setbacks, including being investigated by the government and being ridiculed by 50 Cent and G-Unit. Ultimately the issues with her label contributed to Ashanti's fall from the top spot.
