Recipe:
350° F for 10 Mins
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp ginger
Pinch of salt
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 egg
1 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
In one bowl, mix both brown and white sugar and all of the wet ingredients together. In a separate bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients.
Combine the two until the dry mixture is fully incorporated into the wet, and place batter into a piping bag or ziplock bag for easy squeezing into your molds.
For the sugar coating, dip the donuts into melted butter, and then dip into a cinnamon and granulated sugar mix, and you can dash nutmeg and ginger in to the mixture as well (adjust the ratio to your preference!)
