For relaxation purposes only 🙂😴💤
Are you one for plastic crinkle sounds or do you melt when an avalanche of paper crinkles washes over you? This video caters to both preferences.
You'll see me slide heavy-weight pages (taken from a gardening book) into plastic sheet protectors. Maybe one day the pictures of these awe-inspiring gardens will motivate me enough to get my butt in gear and do actual gardening rather than just "plant" myself in front of the laptop.
The pages are slightly water-damaged, and the plastic sheet protectors have no idea how not to be crinkly. So there you go, a recipe for tingles!
The vibe of this video? Let's call it focused. I'm concentrated on the task at hand, doing what needs to be done and at a natural pace, rather than a deliberately slow one aimed at eliciting more tingles. It's not unintentional ASMR, since I'm aware there's a phone pointed at my hands. But I'm not doing anything differently than I would be if there wasn't a camera rolling. I hope it shows.
What you'll hear:
- shuffling crinkly paper
- opening and closing paper file folders
- plastic crinkles (sheet protectors)
- writing using a ballpoint pen
- page turning
Here's to a hopefully spine-tingling and/or relaxing experience.
Backstory to this video
====================
When I feel stressed or just wired in general, few things relax me more than watching a gardening show. Who could have thought. I don't even have green fingers.
But there's this tv presenter called Monty Don who not only has a perfect name but also hosts a gardening show on the BBC and I like to specifically watch that man just to hear his calming voice and see him surrounded by healthy-looking plants he cares for as if they're his children. And then there's his golden retriever, Nigel, chilling in the background on many shows, serving as an inspiration of how to enjoy the simple things in life. Sunshine. Good company. A full stomach. The quiet.
Being in nature or watching people who are in tune with nature, or even just browsing through books that depict the most beautiful flora the world has to offer, instantly calms the brain and can help to put things that seem overwhelming inside my own head, back into perspective.
