In this episode of at the bench, I walk you through how I do flush settings. Also known as Gypsy settings, this technique involves setting your gemstone directly into the metal of your piece of jewelry.
Flush setting is one of my favorite ways to set a gemstone but it can be difficult to learn. I hope this step by step process teaches you how to do this setting so that you can create the jewelry you want to create!
As a self silversmith, this was a difficult technique for me to learn and sometimes, I still struggle with it. But if you take it slowly and be patient, it becomes easier with practice.
