When you fabricate everything by hand, there’s a lot of risk with every step of the smithing process. If you mess up on one part, you have to start it all over again. And, fortunately or unfortunately, I have promised myself I won’t by any more silver wire/sheet (unless it already has a design I can’t replicate) until I use all my silver up. So, I roll out/draw everything I need for every project. And while it’s fun, it’s incredibly time consuming 🫣
