Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy - Piano Trio no.1 in d-minor, op.49 (1839/40) Composed in 1839 and revised several times until its final form being published in 1840, this dramatic and brilliant, yet utterly personal work immediately became wildly popular (though at first only in Leipzig, only later in Paris or London) and still to this day overshadows its equally genius sister-piece, the c-minor trio op.66. 00:00 - 09:35 1. Molto Allegro agitato 09:50 - 17:10 2. Andante con molto tranquillo 17:40 - 21:10 3. Scherzo. Leggiero e vivace 21:15 - 29:10 4. Finale. Allegro assai appassionato 30:50 - end 5. encore: Haydn - Trio in A-Major, Hob.XV:18, last movement ATOS Trio Annette von Hehn, violin Stefan Heinemeyer, cello Thomas Hoppe, piano recorded live at Wigmore Hall, London, UK / July 8, 2018 sound & video by Opera Omnia (www.operaomnia.co.uk)
