The AtoVproject lx-euclid is a four-channel Euclidean sequencer made in collaboration with Swiss designer Lucas Bonvin. It features a pair of touch-sensitive rings for editing parameters like the number of steps and the number of beats in the pattern, and there’s a circular colour display which visualises the rhythms.
In this video, I walk you through the interface of lx-euclid and show you how fast and intuitive it is to start making beats. I also explore a few patches based around Euclidean rhythms that go a bit beyond simple drum programming. There are plenty of things that you can try with any Euclidean sequencer, so hopefully you’ll find these ideas useful no matter what kind of device you’re using or what kind of music you’re making.
Thanks to AtoVproject for sponsoring this video :)
