In this tutorial, we cover how to attach a custom mesh to the player in UEFN using the VFX Powerup Device. (recorded using UEFN v28.10/28.20) UPDATE v30.00: Fixed an issue with the VFX Powerup device that caused custom VFX on players to not display correctly for users that joined a game in progress. https://dev.epicgames.com/documentation/en-us/uefn/30-00-release-notes-in-unreal-editor-for-fortnite NOTE: ATM (v28.10/28.20) this is an early feature. A known issue is that it doesn't always work well when used in multi-player games. Shout out to @furthest-fortnitecreative2804 the VFX master pointed out the issues with the last tutorial. ;) 0:00 Attach a custom mesh to a player using the VFX Powerup Device in UEFN 0:27 Adding VFX Powerup Device 0:42 Setting up the VFX Powerup Device Attach 0:51 Attaching to the head socket of the player (IMPORTANT) 0:59 Creating the Niagara System 1:20 Creating the Emitter 1:36 Setting up the Emitter (updated section) 2:25 Setting up Spawn Burst Instantaneous (updated section) 2:42 Setting up Initialize Particle 3:03 Setting up Static Mesh Location (updated section) 3:30 set the Emitter System to sample sockets (IMPORTANT) 3:59 Adding Mesh Renderer 4:40 Setting up the Static Mesh 6:26 Setting up VFX Powerup Device Attach Cont. 6:50 Setting up VFX Powerup Device Detach 7:47 Adding a volume to check the clear event 8:21 Testing 8:54 Outro ------------------------------------ Follow us on Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/cleverlike Visit our Web Site: https://www.cleverlike.com Get our Minecraft Marketplace products: https://marketplace.minecraft.net/en-us/creator?name=cleverlike Use Fortnite Support-a-Creator code: Cleverlike
