Yuriy Dmitriev is a man who actively worked towards restoring memory of GULAG victims in Sandarmokh, Karelia. He was sentenced to a 3,5 years imprisonment. He was convicted and acquitted twice. It can be assumed that the case against him was initiated for the reason not related to the crime he was accused of.
We went to Petrozavodsk, a place where Yuriy lives. We spent a few days there to find out if there might be a link between his imprisonment and his research activity in Sandarmokh.
