On Tuesday, newly-appointed Attorney General Pam Bondi announced all federal funding for sanctuary cities will be paused. The Department of Justice’s new leader has ordered several directives on her first day following her swearing-in. Bondi’s order includes fighting the weaponization of the legal system and calling for prosecutors to seek the death penalty when necessary. The AG also vowed to work with Homeland Security to “eliminate” cartels and transnational criminal organisations, according to Fox News Digital. Exclusively obtained by Fox News Digital, Bondi’s first-day directives illustrated the AG’s groundwork for the Justice Department. In a memo obtained by Fox News Digital, Bondi said the responsibilities of DOJ attorneys “aggressively enforcing criminal laws passed by Congress." The memo added DOJ attorneys must defend “presidential policies and actions on behalf of the United States against legal challenges.”
