Aruba is famous for its stunning beaches, year-round warm weather, and unique blend of cultures. We disembark the ship, walk through the cruise terminal and find our rep for Jays Car Rental. We rent a jeep for the day so we can explore and go site-seeing on this beautiful island. Our first location is the California Lighthouse - one of Aruba’s most iconic landmarks, located on the northwest tip of the island near Arashi Beach and Boca Catalina. Built in 1916, the lighthouse was named after the SS California, a ship that sank off the coast of Aruba in 1891. Originally constructed to help guide ships safely through Aruba’s rough waters and rocky coastline. With Panoramic Views from the lighthouse, visitors can enjoy sweeping views of Aruba’s coastline, beaches, and rugged desert landscape. It’s meant to be especially beautiful at sunset. We then continue our tour to Arashi Beach - a beautiful, serene beach located near the California Lighthouse on the northwest coast of Aruba. It’s a favorite spot for both locals and tourists seeking a more relaxed and less crowded beach experience. We enjoy the Crystal-Clear Watersthe calm, shallow waters make it ideal for swimming and snorkeling. The sand is powdery and soft, perfect for sunbathing and lounging. Next we call in to Tres Trapi, a hidden gem in Aruba, known for its crystal-clear waters and excellent snorkeling opportunities. The name “Tres Trapi” means “Three Steps” in Papiamento, referring to the three rock steps that lead down into the water. The three stone steps carved into the rocks provide access to the water. It’s a unique and rustic entry point, adding to its charm. Tres Trapi is famous for snorkeling, with vibrant marine life, including starfish, sea turtles, and various tropical fish. d just a short walk from the main road. We stop for lunch at Zeerover, a popular, laid-back seafood restaurant and bar located in the fishing village of Savaneta, on the southern coast. It is known for its authentic island atmosphere, fresh seafood, and stunning views of the Caribbean Sea. Saving the best until last we visit Baby Beach, a beautiful, family-friendly beach located on the southeastern tip of Aruba near the town of San Nicolas. It is famous for its calm, shallow waters, making it an ideal spot for swimming and snorkeling. The beach features a crescent-shaped lagoon with shallow, crystal-clear waters that extend far from the shore. Lined with soft, white sand, there are shaded cabanas, picnic areas, and a beach bar and restaurant. Come along with and explore what this beautiful island has to offer for an exciting port day off the ship.
