Baby Phat quickly became one of the most popular brands of the 2000s. It was a favorite of celebs like Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, and Destiny's Child. Kimora Lee Simmons used her prior experience in the fashion industry to create one of the first fashion brands that simultaneously showed at fashion weeks and sold in department stores. It celebrated black womanhood in a way many brands haven't been able to recreate. Baby Phat became a billion dollar lifestyle brand, and recently made a comeback with a successful Forever 21 collab. Now that the Y2K Revival is back, I'm excited to see Baby Phat return with full force.
