Our 10-month-old draft cross filly, Mesa, has been struggling with a hoof injury that just isn’t healing. What started as a suspected abscess or deep bruise now has us worried something more serious—like a fracture—could be going on. I’ve made an appointment for radiographs to get some answers, but in the meantime, I’m doing my best to stay busy and not stress about her.
Between organizing the tack room and putting the finishing touches on the mustang pen, there’s plenty to do. And with our mustang pickup only a week away, the countdown is on! Hoping for good news for Mesa, but we’ll find out soon.
