Backpacking the Devil's Path in the Catskills from end to end.

The Devil's Path in the Catskills has been called the toughest hike in the eastern United States. My cousin Chip and I decided to find out for ourselves in late September and came to the conclusion that YES this hike is very tough. The trail takes you up and over many Catskill peaks with beautiful vistas, makes you scramble over and under boulders, and tests your threshold for knee pain. This path is difficult but extremely scenic with the interesting rock formations and moss covered boulders with trees hanging on with their roots in bizarre positions. The leaves on this trip were not at peak colors but still very attractive. Come along with Chip and I as we tackle the hardest hike in the east!#catskills #outdoors #hiking
