After volunteering to baby-sit our lovely grand daughter for a few days, we took the opportunity to get the bikes out and ride to Tamworth. We were very lucky with the weather today — its been raining most days and the forecast was more lite rain. But that wasn’t to be — the day turned out to be hot and steamy with 33º in Tamworth. The Putty road was the usual ride, in mostly good condition but those 3 traffic lights sections still remain. And the long road-works part of the top 10 mile was terrible —we were held up there for close to 15 minutes. We refuelled at Singleton and shortly afterwards, headed for the back roads towards a real favourite — Bowman Creek Rd. It didn’t disappoint — the cows were out, the surface was in good condition and the scenery was again amazing. The Linga Long Inn at Gundy is a very nice Pub and lunch there didn’t disappoint. Afterwards we headed to Nundle taking Waverly Rd towards Crawney. This was the first time we had ridden this way to Nundle and initially I thought it was nothing-special. But, after reaching Crawney, the road winds along the Isis River and then passes over Crawney Pass making the ride much more interesting and very enjoyable! We took the River Rd out of Nundle and stopped off at Chaffey Dam — still looking quite healthy. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1E1jmorBqf/
