This is the fourth in a series of lessons on using the thumb lead two finger style to play back up banjo. Playing back up, in support of a singer or lead instrument, is a skill set onto itself. It uses the same fundamental patterns that you learn to play the melody of a song or tune, but the application of those patterns is different. The goal is to support the singer or lead instrument.
Each lesson will focus on one or two skills or techniques. Subsequent lessons will build on previous lessons. Hence, the lessons are intended to be followed in a sequential matter.
Each lesson will be divided into chapters with hyperlinked time stamps so that you can navigate to the parts of the lesson that are most pertinent to you.
