Today we head to the Exumas in the Bahamas archipelago. Our travel diary offers you 7 attractions in this part of the Caribbean, each being valued according to its attractiveness, from one to five stars. The 365 Exuma islands, some of which are owned by the rich and famous, enjoy a symphony of blues, whites and greens. The almost permanent wind purifies the air, so the colours are intense, especially on these images shot in Ultra High Definition 4K.The light and the colours deserve 5 stars. The second attraction is the island hopping. The entire island chain is 200 kilometers long within an area of 193 square kilometers. This chain has only 5,600 inhabitants.
The largest island, which is simply called "Great Exuma", is 60 kilometers long. It is crossed by the tropic of cancer. This paradise for marine tourists is worth 5 stars.Sharks are the third attraction in the Exumas. There are seventy different species, including the ones by the seaside which tolerate humans. 4 stars are awarded to this marine park of friendly sharks. You can also swim with the pigs and thank them for their company by feeding them carrots. The origin of these pigs is mysterious. For some, they were aboard a pirate ship that was shipwrecked, while for others they were imported by Americans during the Second World War to serve as a military food reserve...
We give three stars to this fourth attraction of the Exumas. Diving benefits from four stars. The Exuma National Sea Park is nicknamed "the aquarium", even though you might stumble across aircraft wrecks having run out of fuel, from the drug traffic trade in the 1960's. At the Exumas, you can also find yourself in the shoes of James Bond. The film Thunderball that was shot here in 1965 gave its name to this marine cave.18 years later, James Bond returned to this natural setting to shoot "Never Say Never Again". Thrill-seekers give this Thunderball Cave 5 stars. The penultimate attraction in the Exumas: the originality of the signs. If you do not get lost, you will give three stars to this signage.
