छत्तीसगढ़ी नहीं पूरे भारत के आदिवासी बहुमूल्य क्षेत्र में अनेक प्रकार की जनजाति समूह निवास करते हैं अधिकतर जंगलों में निवास जनजाति अपनी आवश्यकताओं की पूर्ति के लिए बाजार का सहारा लेते हैं जहां पर अपनी वह रहन-सहन खान पान एवं जीवन शैली से जुड़े आवश्यकताओं की पूर्ति के लिए खरीदारी करते हैं साथ ही साथ यहां वही सामान बिकने आता है
जो उन लोगों के लिए जरूर का होता है और काफी सस्ता बहुत कम बजट में अधिक सामानों की पूर्ति हो जाती है जंगलों पर आश्रित आदिवासी बहुमूल्य क्षेत्र के लोग जंगलों से प्राप्त वन औषधि एवं जीवन यापन के लिए भी पेड़ पौधों पर ही आश्रित रहते हैं
बैगा आदिवासी समुदाय विशेष कर अपनी रहन-सहन वेशभूषा एवं कला संस्कृति से पहचाने जाते हैं जो बेहद पुराना है
विशेष कर उनके शरीर में गोदना का बहुत ही महत्व होता है माना जाता है कि जब बच्ची छोटे से बड़ा होकर तैयार होता है तो माथे से गोदना प्रारंभ होता है और धीरे-धीरे वहां हाथ पर शरीर के 50% अंग में गोदना नजर आने लगता है अर्थात यहां घटना एवं श्रृंगार के प्रेमी होते हैं
इसी कड़ी में आज हम उनके द्वारा जरूर राशन सामानों से लेकर दैनिक जीवन में काम आने वाले वस्तुओं को एक बाजार में देखते हैं जो सप्ताह में एक दिन लगता है जिसकी खरीदारी के लिए आसपास के गांव वाले काफी शौक से यहां पहुंचते हैं
