Welcome back to Heronbrook Farm Kitchen. Bakewell is a market town in Derbyshire famous for an amazing tart combining pastry, fruit (typically cherry or raspberry jam) and an almond frangipane topping. Absolutely delicious! Bakewell is only about 12 miles from our farm and so, in homage to them, we’ll show you how to make our Bakewell slice. We’ve modified (improved?) the original slightly by replacing the pastry with a shortbread base to make it easier to eat with your hands. This slice is also our kids absolute favourite.
