Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Some of you good folks asked us to design a band sawn Santa to go with our band sawn reindeer and band sawn sleigh. We’ve been thinking about it for the better part of a year, and here’s what Travis and I came up with – not just a Santa, but a whole workshop full of elves! These little guys are created using the same band saw magic I’ve shown in earlier videos. Just cut two patterns in a single scrap of wood, each from different directions. Additionally, you can give each elf his own special look and personality simply by swapping body shapes, caps, beards, pipes, and wood species. And if any of you are wondering if you can do this project on a scroll saw instead of a band saw, the answer is yes! Just reduce the patterns by 50% so you sawing 3/4” (19 mm) square blocks instead of 1-1/2” (38 mm). And if all you have is a hand-held jigsaw or saber saw, watch our "Halloween Lantern" video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wr8KVBQxFsM&t=599s) At 07:58, I show a jig that turns that mounts a jigsaw to a small table and turns it into a stationary tool. This too will work, but you'll have to be very careful not to exert any sideways force on the blade when cutting the curves -- this will cause the blade to lean and you'll get angled cuts. You can find the instructions and FULL-SIZE patterns for Santa and his elves online at the Workshop Companion General Store -- https://workshopcompanionstore.com/products/band-sawn-elves-and-santa. If you’d like to purchase the wooden beads and some of the tools we used in this video,. You can find then at our Amazon affiliate store -- https://www.workshopcompanion.com/affiliate.html#Elves As for the 3/16” (5 mm) skip-tooth saw blades I recommend, you can find them at Timber Wolf. They will weld up any length your need -- https://timberwolfblades.com/proddetail.php?prod=31604PC .(Note – We just noticed that Timber Wolf has these skip-tooth blades on back order. You can also use the 3/16” x 10 tpi blades from Timber Wolf (https://timberwolfblades.com/proddetail.php?prod=31610RK). They just cut a little slower because they don't clear the sawdust as quickly.)
