Today I'm joined by @joparilla as we get away from the tourist areas of Khaosan Road and Sukhumvit to the Pinklao area of Bangkok to sample a proper Pad Thai as well as one of the best crispy pork pad kaprao I've ever eaten!
Pa Thai Bai Thong is sure to have you falling back in love with Thailand's national dish. The fresh prawns here are amazing as is the addition of the home made crispy pork.
We had a pad kaprao with pork and crispy pork, mixed kaprao rice with beef and of course the famous pad Thai with prawns and crispy pork.

Pinklao, also known as Bang Khun Non or simply the Pinklao area, is a bustling neighborhood located in the Thonburi district of Bangkok, Thailand. This area is situated on the western side of the Chao Phraya River and is known for its mix of residential, commercial, and cultural attractions. Here are some key points about Pinklao:

Tesco Lotus Pinklao: A large hypermarket that caters to both locals and expatriates, providing groceries, electronics, clothing, and more.
Housing: Pinklao has a mix of housing options, from high-rise condominiums to traditional Thai houses. The area is popular among both Thai residents and expatriates due to its convenient location and amenities.
Cultural and Recreational Attractions
Siriraj Medical Museum: Also known as the "Museum of Death," it offers unique and somewhat macabre exhibits on medical history and forensic science.
Wat Rakhang: A historic temple located nearby, known for its beautiful architecture and serene atmosphere.

My name’s Gary and I’ve been living in Bangkok for the past five plus years and travelling Thailand for over ten. I’m obsessed with Thai street food and it’s that obsession that led me to start this YouTube channel. I want to share my favourite hidden spots in Bangkok and the rest of Thailand so you can fall in love with authentic, local Thai food as much as I have!
If you love seeing off the beaten path, non-touristy, local life and authentic local life in Bangkok and Thailand then this is the channel for you. If go go bars on the Sukhumvit Road are more your thing (I’m not judging) then maybe not!
