In this video I explain, in great, and explicit detail how and why your Baofeng UV-5R, other Baofeng radios, and even other brand radios suchs as Wouxun, Radioddity, Retevis and Midland are not able to hear anything when you scan through frequencies or channels. This applies to Baofeng and other brand ham radios as well as GMRS walkie-talkie and mobile radios.
I explain the common settings that might prevent you from hearing anything on your UV5R and I show you how to change the settings to get better reception.
