The BIA is a parameterized digital drum voice with its roots in the analog world. At its heart, the BIA is a simple six-oscillator additive and FM synthesizer with waveform, harmonic spread, and envelope controls. An adjustable noise oscillator and an extreme take on a wavefolder round out its synthesis abilities. Its straightforward controls make sound design fun and performable: create sub-shaking kicks, snares, hats, and unique drum hits with just a few tweaks.

Basimilus Iteritas Alia is the successor to the original Basimilus Iteritas Alter. It was developed to sound nearly identical, with added features and new firmware-swapping capabilities.

Alia is a 10HP oscillator platform much like the Versio and Legio platforms. With the launch of Alia, we are pleased to bring back Basimilus Iteritas and Manis Iteritas, as well as announce Debel Iteritas Alia, a new voice.
Alia's interface is similar to the Iteritas modules but now includes an encoder for easier tuning, a dedicated envelope out, and a self-calibrating pitch input that expects -2V to +5V. Basimilus and Manis have been designed to sound as close to the old versions as possible.
Like with our other platforms, if you own any Alia module, you can swap to any other Alia firmware for free by going to the Noise Engineering Customer Portal and connecting with the included USB cable.
