Tazy is a very ancient breed. Its progenitors are the dogs of Ancient Egypt and the Saluki - the Arabian Greyhound. It is believed that these dogs appeared on the territory of Kazakhstan more than seven thousand years ago. They were the real value of the owners: a purebred thoroughbred dog cost more than fifty horses or a couple of camels.
Today, the Tazy is considered a rare breed. Mostly dogs are distributed in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. In our country, there are about 300 purebred individuals.
The head of state signed the Law amending the conservation and reproduction of Kazakh breeds of dogs and tazy. Now Kazakh cynologists are talking about creating their own genetic base, which will collect the DNA of the best representatives of the breeds.
We are obliged to preserve this magnificent masterpiece of nature for our descendants.
