Bass Bars Part 1: Joseph Curtin and MJ Kwan, November 3, 2023

In June 2023, eleven violin-makers worked with a team of researchers to investigate the acoustical effects of (1) progressively lowering the height of the bassbar, and (2) progressively increasing its scoop. Joseph Curtin and MJ Kwan will present the results and consider their implications for makers and researchers.
