Welcome to the video, here I show you how to change and code the AGM battery for cars with a start stop system. This procedure will be useful for all Volkswagen/Audi/Seat group cars that equip the start stop system. If you have this system you need to use this type of AGM or EFB battery and code it in the car's control unit to avoid electrical problems and failures such as damage to the alternator and IBS battery sensors.

Important note: in some cars they need a special code called BEM code that comes with the battery and you will necessarily need to buy the original battery from the agency or one of the battery brands that contain the BEM code that the Volkswagen group uses. How can they know if they need the battery with BEM code? Very easy. They must enter the car's switchboard with the scanner following the steps in the video and look for the serial number that is preloaded in their car. If the serial number contains numbers and letters then they need the battery containing the BEM code. Otherwise, if the serial number only contains the number 1 repeated 10 or 11 times, you will not need a battery with a BEM code. You should only buy a battery whose manufacturer is on the list and that are AGM or EFB technology from the following list that I leave below.
This is the list of battery brands whose manufacturer is preloaded in their cars' control unit to be chosen when changing their battery. First it is the name of the manufacturer and then the abbreviation with which it appears on the car's control unit.
Example the VARTA battery brand appears in the control unit as VA0
Varta (VA0)
Johnson Controls (JCB)
Moll (MLA)
Exide (TU3)
Banner (BA2)
Reminding them that if their car comes from the factory with an EFB or EFB+ battery, you can choose both this technology and also an AGM. But if your car comes from the factory with an AGM you cannot choose an EFB or EFB+.
This is why the AGM battery is the top of the range and is for greater performance in discharge and charge cycles and is designed for your car because it has a high energy demand. And if we place an EFB or EFB+ we will damage the battery faster.
