Setting up closed-loop communication between battery bank and inverter. Currently, I'm using the Schneider inverter with an EG4 battery bank from Signature Solar. This system works well, but could be better. The inverter only sees the Voltage of the battery. This type of setup is simple and easy, called open-loop communication. I'll be changing this to closed-loop communication so that the batteries report information to the inverter.
The batteries I'm using are LiFePO4. There is an internal BMS (Battery Management System) built into the batteries. This BMS can report information to the inverter, such as, SOC (state of charge). Eventually I'll use the SOC information for other functions, such as turning on/off my generator.
This whole system is part of running my home off grid. Usually my solar array handles all my energy needs.
