Today, I'm teaming up with my friend Christine from @ChristineSewsALot to tackle a common fit issue — the Full Bust Adjustment (FBA)! We both made the Patina Blouse by Friday Pattern Company, but we used completely different FBA methods to achieve a great fit.
Christine used the traditional slice and spread method, while I experimented with the Nancy Zieman pivot and slide technique — a method that keeps the pattern intact while adding bust room in a super beginner-friendly way.
In this video, I’ll walk you through:
✅ How the Patina Blouse fit almost straight from the pattern
✅ Why an FBA was necessary for a better fit
✅ The final fit comparison—before vs. after the adjustment
Both methods work beautifully, and it really comes down to personal preference. If you want to see how Christine’s slice and spread version turned out, head over to her video here: https://youtu.be/F-IL0LcUuoY
👗 Have you tried an FBA before? What method do you prefer? Let me know in the comments!
