We spent 3 days and 2 nights day hiking in the Mount Baker Wilderness, which is part of the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. We stayed in the Douglas Fir Campground and hiked the Heliotrope Ridge Trail, Huntoon Point at Artist Point, and the Yellow Aster Butte Trail. Add these gorgeous Washington state hikes to your list!
Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest spans 140 miles along the western slopes of the Cascade Range and straddles the Canadian and US border all the way to the northern boundary of Mount Rainier National Park.
We recommend all three of these day hikes in Mount Baker and think they are some of the most beautiful hiking trails in Washington state, just 2 hours north of the Seattle area. We hiked these trails in the Mount Baker area around Labor Day in September and had awesome weather.
