🎨 CROSSHATCHING TUTORIAL 🎨

Hi there, today I finally get to share with you a the crosshatching tutorial I've been working on!

This is going to be a basic demo of the technique and some guiding principles for using it.

🎨 GUIDING PRINCIPLES 🎨

1. The basic technique is shading / giving value using parallel lines.

2. For achieving darker values - either increase line density, or do additional layer(s).

3. You want to choose a comfortable direction / angle of lines to start with.

4. You can either work in patches (different directions), or cover everything with one layer, then the rest with another, and so on.

The unified approach is better, but isn't always possible.

5. Avoid crosshatching in too many different directions, as it can create a big mess.

🎨 TOOLS I'M USING 🎨

I'm using a simple generic sketchbook (by Potentate) and Faber-Castell pens (Ecco Pigment).
