How to Knit Slip Stitch Colorwork
Knitting slip stitch colorwork patterns only requires understanding a few basic things:
- two or more colors can be used
- only one color is worked in each row
- each color is generally used for two rows (but not always)
- the other color(s) are slipped purlwise
- the working yarn can be held in the front or in the back while the stitches are slipped (depending on the pattern)
- patterns can use any combination of Stockinette and/or Garter stitch
Learn how these rules work together to create a variety of slip stitch colorwork patterns, look at three different patterns, and watch the demonstration for working a basic slip stitch colorwork pattern.
