The 25-ton truck named Teletubby, which comes complete with a 27-metre TV screen, is booked for a three-day charity supercar event in Ireland, where it will be used to replay highlights of the racing - but it must first be navigated to the location in time. The boss's son Ed Stobart receives hands-on tuition from another driver after passing his HGV1 test, and an employee negotiates a tricky delivery in Yorkshire.
Truckers features some of the day-to-day activities of the Stobart Group, the UK logistics company, with a particular focus on its Eddie Stobart road haulage division.
This highly popular observational documentary featuring haulage firm Eddie Stobart shows Stobart’s Haulage, Rail and Air divisions. The programme joins the drivers as they take on the challenges of delivering everything from the new pitch at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, to a London Landmark – the famous Piccadilly lights. It's all a bit sensationalist though, with perfectly normal traffic congestion being described as the drivers' "worst nightmare" and standard delivery deadlines made out to be life-or-death cut offs. The series also meets a new breed of drivers, as 20 young lads compete to win a place on the firm’s coveted apprenticeship scheme.
