On January 16, 2015, at Convocation, North America’s largest weekly gathering of Christian students, Ben Watson, New Orleans tight end, spoke to students about how his faith has influenced his football career and his fight against racism. Watson encouraged students to combat injustice and racism with the truth that unites and saves: that sin is the root problem and Jesus is the only solution. Ben Watson played college football at the University of Georgia before playing for the New England Patriots, the Cleveland Browns, and finally the New Orleans Saints. Watson’s comments about racism and the Gospel were widely circulated after the racial tensions focused in Ferguson, Missouri. 👉 LIKE this video and SUBSCRIBE to our channel for more about life at Liberty. 💡 Explore Your Future: Learn about Liberty University’s 700+ areas of study (residential & online), scholarships, athletics, and more. ➡️ Discover Liberty University: https://bit.ly/LUYouTube 📲 Stay connected with us on social media: Instagram → @LibertyUniversity Facebook → @LibertyUniversity LinkedIn → @LibertyUniversity X → @LibertyU Be part of a community where you can grow academically, spiritually, and socially.
