As artists, one of the most challenging things to give our characters is energy and believable movement within a still frame. One way we create this is by learning how the human torso naturally bends, twists, and curves as the body moves. Breaking up our pictures from having the flat, always facing forward, bodies will bring a whole new dynamic level to your picture and any character you create whether cartoony or otherwise. We will look at references and focus on drawing the gesture of the pose.
