ফিনল্যান্ডে শিক্ষার্থীদেরকে মাধ্যমিক পর্যায়ের শেষে একটি মাত্র পরীক্ষা ব্যাতিত এর পূর্বেকার সমগ্র শিক্ষা-জীবনে কোনো সুনির্ধারিত পরীক্ষা দিতে হয় না বা শিক্ষার্থীদেরকে বাধ্য করা হয় না।
পরীক্ষা শেষে কোনো ধরণের মেধা তালিকা করা হয় না বা এক শিক্ষার্থীর সাথে অন্য শিক্ষার্থীর তুলনাও করা হয় না। কেবল পাস্ করতে পারলেই হলো, ব্যাস। পাস্ করা সকল শিক্ষার্থীকে অনন্য মেধাবী বলে ধরে নেয়া হয়।
ফিনল্যান্ডের শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থা বর্তমানে সারা পৃথিবীজুড়ে আলোচিত ও বহু বিশিষ্টজন কর্তৃক প্রশংসিত হচ্ছে। ঘন ঘন পরীক্ষা না নিয়েও যে একটা দেশের শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থা কতটা সফল ও সমৃদ্ধ হতে পারে তার উদাহরণ হলো ফিনল্যান্ডের শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থা।
