The Cadillac Lyriq EV has been rolling out over the past year or so, with 2023 models making their first deliveries in Canada around March of this year. There are some minor changes for the 2024 models, but the most important feature we're talking about today is AWD. The $3,995 option is well worth the price for those who live in rough climates such as ours, giving this EV the luxury powertrain needed to elevate it into competition with vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV and BMW iX.
We go over the exterior design and technical specifications, including the dual electric motors producing a total of 500 horsepower, and 450 lb-ft of torque, along with the 102 kWh li-ion battery good for about 494 kms of range. We discuss some of the exterior features like the LED lights, illuminated grille, door handles and how they change from 2023, and the rear end design.
Jump inside the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq with us as we discuss the driver's view of this mid-size luxury SUV. Features like the 33" LCD display, full-length panoramic glass roof, heated front seats with driver memory, dual-zone automatic climate control, and more. The leatherette seating is plush with ample support, along with comfortable space for 4 large adults inside.
We then take the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech AWD on the road to talk about how this EV performs, drives, handles, and rides on our first drive with this vehicle, and how the performance of the dual-motor AWD system works compared to other EVs we've tested. We do some performance testing along with our overall impressions of the car on the road.
