Reviews of the best mid-range Android phones in early 2025, boasting the greatest camera tech, top gaming performance and the longest battery life. For a budget of £300 UK upwards, you can grab Xiaomi's Redmi Note 14 5G series, the Poco X7 Pro, Google's Pixel 8a and plenty more of my favourite mid-range smartphones. Here's my mini reviews of the best affordable mobiles right now, and some periphery options like the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE (Fan Edition).
If you're after an even cheaper smartphone, check out my reviews and round-ups of the top Android smartphones under £300 and £200.
Manufacturers like Nothing, Samsung, Xiaomi and Realme all offer a selection of compelling smartphones at a mid-range asking price in 2025. The Pixel 8a is still the best around for camera overall, but rivals like the Nothing Phone 2 and 2A aren't far behind. And the Samsung Galaxy A55 and A35 are even cheaper options that will suit most smartphone fans.
Meanwhile the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G is a fantastic mid-range phone, boasting impressive specs for a budget-friendly price. Or if your budget is smaller, try the Poco X7 Pro or regular Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G.
I've also recently reviewed the OnePlus Nord4, which won my 'best mid range phone' award just a month ago. And Motorola also offers its own excellent Edge handsets for a price that won't absolutely slay your savings.
