I'm in the Pilanesberg National Park in northwest South Africa, looking to photograph wildlife in this stunning and ancient fossil volcano. The geology plays a huge role here because it produces atypical shots where we are able to get backgrounds with mountains and landscape behind the animal. On the mostly flat plains of Africa, getting shots without the horizon line bisecting the animal can be difficult. But Pilanesberg makes it much easier!
