the worst thing elektron has done is to market this as a drum machine -that's why my stickers. After years of pushing this little beast I finally have something worth to share i belive. How to turn the digitakt into an ambient performer; and with no need for patterns, sequences or triggers. Just twisting knobs!
i've found in this setup a way that allows me to freely improvise and perform for hours. A way that puts you and your hands, in control of the sound, in a safe space that calls for improvisation and unlimited progression. In my opinion, a liberating way to make music from within, reducing distractions or errors. just having fun.
i'll upload a complementary video where i go in depth on the setup, all its tweaks, pros, cons and recommendations, cause you really gotta try this if you have a digitakt. I'm still bamboozled by this machine.
and hopefully this video also calms your gas for a digitakt 2 lol (although i can only imagine the upgrade this setup will benefit from mk2. fuck.)
take care,
