Bezel Setting an Oval Brilliant Cut | Advanced Stone Setting Techniques | Metalsmith Academy

In this video I'm setting an oval CZ in a 1mm thick sterling silver bezel using ball burs to cut the seat. Be warned - it's not as easy as it looks! But once you've got to grips with basic tube setting, this is a great (if not slightly more stressful) next step!

BTW - the bezel is superglued to a wooden base which is held in my GRS Tools Micro Ball Vice. To get the setting off the wood, I'll just give it a soak in acetone or squeeze the wood in a vice so the setting pops right off.
