Fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) Fundamentals with Prof. Ilias Pappas
RMIT BHRIGHT Methodology Seminar Series
Host and convenor: Dr Mohammad Hossain, BHRIGHT Digital Theme Lead
August 30 2023

Many business theories and studies are inherently configurational or gestalt-like. The fuzzy set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) approach provides researchers with tools for conceptualizing research questions and analysing data in configurational terms. fsQCA offers several advantage over the most traditional methods, e.g., regression-based techniques. It is a powerful tool for testing models with nonlinear phenomena and thus enables researchers to more adequately theorize and empirically examine causal complexity. Consequently, fsQCA is becoming popular among business researchers and behavioural scientists in Accounting, Marketing, Management, Information Systems, Hospitality, International Business, Supply Chain, and more. In this seminar, Professor Pappas, one of the top scholars on fsQCA, will discuss the fundamental guidelines about applying fsQCA in business research. You can also ask him your questions on fsQCA.
