I'm back with another #BibleStudyWithMe series - this time we are going through the book of James.
In today's video we are studying James 2, and it's a good one!
James 2 focuses on two key themes: avoiding favouritism and the relationship between faith and works.
1. Warning Against Favouritism (James 2:1-13)
James warns believers against showing partiality, especially favouring the rich over the poor. He emphasises that God values the poor and that favouritism contradicts the law of love ("Love your neighbour as yourself"). He reminds them that breaking even one part of the law makes a person guilty of breaking all of it. Mercy triumphs over judgment, and believers should act with kindness.
2. Faith Without Works is Dead (James 2:14-26)
James argues that faith must be accompanied by action. Simply believing in God is not enough—true faith is demonstrated through works. He gives examples from Scripture using Abraham and Rahab.
James concludes that faith without works is dead, reinforcing that genuine faith results in righteous actions.

Be like a Berean!
ACTS 17:11-12 Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
