Carbide Create 7 Beta just released with some good new features, and a Major change to the Free version of CC. From 7 going forward those using the free version of CC will no longer be able to export G Code, instead a C2D file will store the G Code, and Carbide Motion will be required to read that gcode and communicate with the machine. Thing is Carbide Motion only works on Nomad or Shapeoko CNC Machines. So if you are not using one of those CC Free will not work for you going forward. CC6 still works and you can generate G Code for your machines, but you will be left with those features.
CC7 also changes how their TABS work making them a vector, Toolpaths can now be applied via a layer, and Text can now be on an arc. There are also some other changes, but those being the main new changes.
