お盆休みで帰省の際、実家の片付けやら掃除の合間の３時間ほどを使って
実家から車で４５分ほどの“備中松山城”へ出掛けてみました。
今回は約１５年ぶり３回目の訪問となりました。
天守の麓にある高梁高校（旧制高梁中学校）は父牛の母校ということもあって
１５年前には当時８０歳の父牛も一緒に天守まで登りましたが、今回は流石に
この急峻な天守までの登山は無理なので実家で留守番です。
車の外気温系が今年２回目の４１℃という過去最高気温を記録するという猛暑の中
天守が現存する唯一の山城で標高が最も高い４３０mという「備中松山城」の天守まで
の坂道と階段は流石に牛にもきつく、今年の２月に登った「久能山東照宮」の表参道
の階段よりも更にきつく感じました。
平日であれば車で８合目の「ふいご峠駐車場」まで登れるのですが、この日は
土曜日でお盆休み中ということもあって、車では５合目の「城見橋駐車場」までしか
入ることができず、そこから先は１５分間隔で運行されているシャトルバスで
８合目まで登ることになり、そこから先が徒歩での登頂となります。

When I went home for the Bon vacation, I took advantage of the 3 hours I had between cleaning up and tidying up my parents' house.
I went to "Bicchu Matsuyama Castle," a 45-minute drive from my parents' house.
This was my third visit in 15 years.
Takahashi High School (former Takahashi Junior High School), located at the foot of the castle tower, was my father's alma mater.
Fifteen years ago, he climbed up to the castle tower with us, but this time it was too steep for him.
This time, however, he is staying at home because it is impossible for him to climb up to the steep mountain.
In the heat wave, the car's outside temperature system recorded a record high temperature of 41°C for the second time this year.
The only mountain castle with a castle tower still standing, Bicchu Matsuyama Castle is the highest castle at 430 meters above sea level.
The slopes and stairs up to the castle tower were tough even for cows, and even tougher than the stairs on the front approach to Kunouzan Toshogu Shrine, which we climbed in February of this year.
On weekdays, it is possible to drive up to the "Fuigo Pass Parking Lot" at the 8th station, but it was a Saturday during the Bon vacation.
