Derek MW0LNA is going to give a talk on software defined radio and specifically the GNU Radio software. Starting with the basics, he’ll demonstrate how GNU Radio can be used with simple audio devices like microphones and speakers to build an understanding of signal processing. He’ll then show how to connect GNU Radio to an HF radio for more practical amateur radio applications, followed by examples using direct SDR hardware. The second session will be a hands-on workshop where participants can install GNU Radio and follow along with guided tutorials. These will include working with pre-recorded signals and, where possible, experimenting with their own SDR hardware. No prior experience is required, and all are welcome to explore the possibilities of SDR in a friendly and practical setting.
