In this video, we capture LMS Black Five 45212 hauling The Valentines White Rose 15th February 2025!
Seen first storming through Doncaster on the down fast putting on a great performance with some nice whistles as she gathers speed after being held at Doncaster Decoy, just south of the station making her way from London Kings Cross to York.
We fast forward to around dusk and not long before sunset where we see the Black Five making her way passed Colton Junction as she speeds away making a nice end to a day seeing 45212 on the ECML as she hauls the return leg of the tour from York to London Kings Cross returning via Lincoln Central & Peterborough before spending the night at Wansford on the Nene Valley Railway before returning to Carnforth on 16th February.
We now move onto the video bonus of 45212 during her final day on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway before leaving for mainline commitments until she is withdrawn for overhaul later in the year.
We first her powering away from Haworth at Top Field on the first Keighley to Oxenhope service of the day.
For our final shots of the video we capture the Black Five departing Damems Loop and passing Oakworth Curve in the glorious afternoon winter sunshine.
Overall it was great to see 45212 making a rare appearance hauling a tour on the ECML as it's usually 44871. In fact we do believe this was 45212s first Kings Cross to York tour in preservation and she certainly put on a nice show!
