10 minutes by car from Wanaka on the South Island of New Zealand. There is a popular trekking course called Lloyd's Peak. Even in the latest version of How to Walk on Earth, the superb view is posted in color on two pages. It's a 6-hour round-trip course, but it's great anyway, so I'll introduce it to you.
