►BMW N55 oil pan gasket leaks aren't uncommon as they get up there in mileage. Unfortunately, replacing the oil pan gasket requires removing the engine or dropping the subframe out of the way. The latter is the easier path to repair, but it remains a big job nonetheless. You'll want to replace it asap as oil leaks aren't good for many reasons; less oil in the engine could mean disaster, the leak can also invite dirt in, and it'll stain every surface you park on.
