Bob Dylan released Self Portrait in 1970. It has since become the most reviled work of the man's career. But in this video, I explain why, in my view, the album is severely undervalued and stands as a work of genius. Perhaps no other singular album represents a comprehensive history of the roots of American music, from country folk and stripped-back blues, to modern additions like the works of Gordon Lightfoot and Paul Simon.
Thank you for watching! If you want me to take a look at another piece of art, whether it be film, music, video games, or anything else, leave a comment! Also go listen to Self Portrait!
